Zack Bartlett
Creative Director
Zack is the founder and creative director of Crowbar Studios. He grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and developed an interest in the visual arts from a young age, creating elaborate paintings and sketchbooks as a child, then immersing himself in the visual side of surf and skate culture in High School. Splitting his college years across Hawaii, Brazil, and Utah, he was able to actively pursue his artistic and cultural interests in those epicenters of the board sports world.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University under the direction of Adrian Pulfer. Zack worked at various design studios in Salt Lake City, then as an Art and Brand consultant at Demon International, a growing snowboard accessories company. With work ranging from fashion to corporate branding, his focus has primarily been on the action sports industry across such skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding brands as Demon International, DC Shoes, Poorboy, Kore, Sexwax, K2, and Planet Earth. He is a typographic expert and branding specialist, and has experience developing entire product lines including graphics, patterns, illustrations, and 3D industrial design. Zack's work has been published in the book, Design School Confidential, by Steven Heller and Lita Talarico.
His recent work has had a huge focus on user interface design for websites, iPhone applications, and iPad applications. He is enthralled with creating exciting, easy to use websites and apps.
Zack enjoys investing, anything entrepreneurial, and everything sports related.
